BREAKING NEWS: Patriots Reportedly Think Highly of Colorado Star

Travis Hunter already has coaches and executives convinced he can be two-way player in NFL – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

With the 2025 NFL Draft on the horizon, the New England Patriots are doing their due diligence with the top stars in the draft class. Sitting at the fourth overall selection, the Patriots can add an impact star on either side of the ball.

The Patriots need help on offense and defense, with wide receiver being a top need offensively and cornerback being an underrated need on defense.

Helping Drake Maye is a priority for the Patriots, as is improving their lackluster defense. Fortunately, they can solve both issues by selecting someone they like.

Following their NFL Scouting Combine interview, the Patriots were enamored with Colorado star wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter.

“Defensively, the Patriots believe the best cornerback in the draft is Travis Hunter. Offensively, the Patriots believe the best wideout in the draft is Travis Hunter.”

Hunter is the 2024 Heisman winner and did so by being an elite wide receiver and cornerback. For a player to be the best at any position of an NFL Draft class is an impressive feat. But Hunter, in the Patriots’ eyes, is the best player at wide receiver and cornerback.

When it comes to prospects in the NFL Draft, there hasn’t been a prospect with the same skillset as Hunter. New England views Hunter as the best player at two important positions, which is more than enough to warrant a selection at fourth overall.

A major concern is whether Hunter will make it to the Patriots selection. The Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants could all take the two-way player in the first three selections.

But, if Hunter does make it to the Patriots selection at fourth overall, the Patriots should run the NFL Draft card with Hunter’s name on it to the podium and take a star wide receiver and cornerback.

His addition would add a great weapon for Maye and would also pair Christian Gonzalez with a ball-hawk cornerback opposite him. The duo would immediately be one of the best corner duos in the NFL.

Hunter might be the best possible selection for the Patriots at fourth overall, and the front office sees him as not just the best player at one position but two.
