The Green Bay Packers announced to the league that Jaire Alexander will officially be on the trade block this off-season. The 28-year-old is likely to have plenty of suitors in the trade market, but his worth might not be what Green Bay wants to hear.
Packers Get Horrible News On Jaire Alexander’s Trade Worth (Report)
According to Journalist Jason Wilde:
What could the Packers get for Alexander in a trade? Several longtime NFL executives, asked on the condition of anonymity, disagreed on what a team might give up for Alexander, who turned 28 on Super Bowl Sunday.
Asked what he thought the return would be for Alexander, one replied, “Not good.” That executive suggested Alexander might not even fetch a sixth-round draft pick.
But another veteran NFL executive said he believed the Packers could get “more, I would think. He can still play.”
A third exec said the Packers could ask for a third-round pick for Alexander and perhaps settle for a fourth- or fifth-rounder.
Of course, all the Packers need is one cornerback-needy team willing to take a chance on Alexander. Gutekunst acknowledged earlier in the week that he is looking to add more draft picks to the seven he takes into the April 24-26 draft.
