The Kansas City Chiefs had a very solid roster in 2024, which makes sense considering they went 15-2, were the No. 1 seed in the AFC, and made it all the way to the Super Bowl.
However, one area they lacked was their run game, which, by the end of the regular season, ranked 22nd in rushing yards per game (105.5) and tied for 27th in rushing yards per attempt (4).
To help improve those numbers, Zack Cook of SportsGrid predicts that Kansas City will sign one-time Pro Bowl running back Najee Harris, who will hit free agency and be allowed to sign with a new team on March 12.
Harris, who’s been with the Pittsburgh Steelers will be 27 years old by the start of the 2025 season and just wrapped up his fourth year in the NFL.
In that time, he’s been very consistent, reaching at least 1,000 rushing yards every year, totaling 4,312 and 28 touchdowns in 1,097 attempts.
Harris could also serve as the replacement for Kareem Hunt, the Chiefs’ leading rusher in 2024, who racked up 728 yards and seven touchdowns but is also set to become a free agent.
Bringing him in would cost a substantial amount of money, though, because Spotrac currently values Harris’ market value at $9.2 million annually.
