The Cincinnati Bengals have some work to do this offseason. After an abysmal 9-8 season that saw quarterback Joe Burrow put up MVP-like numbers while the rest of the team struggled, Cincinnati will hope to make some upgrades to the roster this offseason.
One of those areas the Bengals hope to address is the defensive front. In Ryan Roberts’ latest mock draft for AtoZ Sports, Cincinnati does just that by selecting Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant from the Michigan Wolverines.
“There isn’t a much easier team to draft for than the Bengals. Pick whatever part of the defense you want to upgrade, and you’re right,” Roberts wrote. “Grant brings a massive body at 342 pounds and that size and impact should make everyone around him better.”
The Bengals continue on defense at No. 49 with Fighting Irish cornerback Benjamin Morrison, forcing a reunion with new Cincinnati defensive coordinator Al Golden.
Running back Kaleb Johnson from Iowa goes to the Bengals at No. 81 before Cincinnati goes back to defense with Louisville defensive end Ashton Gillotte at No. 118.
Then the Bengals add some depth on the offensive line with Hollin Pierce from Rutgers before going back to the secondary with corner Justin Walley from Minnesota.
Check out all of Roberts’ six picks for the Bengals below:
17. Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
49. Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame
81. Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa
118. Ashton Gillotte, DE, Louisville
154. Hollin Pierce, OL, Rutgers
195. Justin Walley, CB, Minnesota
