2025 NHL Draft Prospects: Could these top goaltenders be on the Chicago Blackhawks’ radar?

A team can never have enough goaltending.

If there is one thing most NHL teams would likely all agree on, it is that you can never have too much depth in the goaltending department.

The Chicago Blackhawks have luckily found themselves, this season, in a position where they could potentially have three goalies worthy of NHL starts once Laurent Brossoit returns from injury and joins Petr Mrazek and Arvid Soderblom.

Having an influx of talent in goal is a problem every NHL would be happy to have, and the Blackhawks could be a team looking to add depth at the position in the upcoming draft.

The team’s top young goaltenders are Arvid Soderblom, Drew Commesso, and Adam Gajan, but there isn’t a clear-cut front-runner to be the goaltender of the future.

The Blackhawks currently have five picks in the first three rounds of the upcoming draft, and there will be some options available for the team to add to their crop of goaltenders.

Joshua Ravensbergen is widely regarded as the top goaltender in the class and might be a late first-round pick.

The 6-foot-5 inch netminder has a .907 save percentage in 38 games for the Prince George Cougars, posting a 26-4-1 record. His size and athleticism has made him project as the first goalie to be taken off the board.

Ravensbergen has the tools that teams tool for in a goaltender, but it is likely his stock is rising to a point where he may go higher than where the Blackhawks would be expected to take a netminder, which would be the second round.

A player like Jack Ivankovic could be someone who should be available in the second round as arguably the most mobile player in the draft at his position.

While on the smaller side (5-foot-11 inches), Ivankovic has exceptional movements in net which has drawn a lot of interest to him. His 18-10-4 record for the Brampton Steelheads has made him one of the stronger netminders in the junior ranks.

In a world dominated by goaltenders with more size, Ivankovic has forced his way onto the scene from his raw talent and athletic abilities that have seen him propel up the rankings.

Rounding out the top three goaltenders in the class is Pytor Andreyanov, a very sound and reliable goaltender who has been lights-out this season.

Playing in the MHL, which is the Russian junior leagues, Andreyanov has a 20-5 record and an astounding .941 save percentage.

While also being smaller for a goaltender at 6-feet tall, Andreyanov is a composed player whose strong technique has made him very successful this season. His current draft stock has him likely going later in the second round.

If the Blackhawks decide to draft a goaltender in the upcoming draft, any of these three would be welcomed additions to the prospect pool as highly skilled netminders.
