But that’s not a strong enough stance, as expressed on the latest episode of NESN’s “Foxboro Rush” podcast featuring Travis Thomas and George Balekji. It’s not enough to call it a priority, it needs to be viewed as the priority.
“It’s obviously the offensive line No. 1,” Thomas said while ranking the most important positions to address. “Listen, I’m a wide receiver guy, I’m a running back guy. But none of this shack works without protection for your quarterback.
“I don’t know how anyone can vote against offensive line. It should be unanimous that offensive line is the No. 1 priority. I think we start there and then we can have conversations and debates about every other position after that. But it has to start with offensive line.”
Balekji agreed and referred to it as a “generational need,” playing off the thought of generational draft prospects.
