The Kansas City Chiefs have wasted no time retaining quarterback Chris Oladokun to another contract this offseason. The former 2022 seventh-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers returns to the quarterback room led by Patrick Mahomes on a Reserves/Futures deal for the 2025 season.
The 27-year-old has won two Super Bowls, mainly serving as Kansas City’s scout team quarterback. He has been to a championship game in all three seasons, playing a significant role in mimicking opposing quarterbacks for the defense. He earned praise for his work as Lamar Jackson from head coach Andy Reid before the 2023 AFC Championship victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Oladokun played briefly in his first regular-season game in 2024 against the Denver Broncos to close the year. He finished with one rush for five yards in relief of Carson Wentz as starters rested during the season-ending rout. After years on the practice squad, he will compete again for the primary backup role behind Mahomes going into the new season.
