πŸ”₯ BREAKING: Patriots eyeing bold move for Chiefs’ star O-lineman in free agency! πŸ‘€πŸ’°

The New England Patriots enter the 2025 offseason with the most cap space in the NFL at $119,801,728.

Patriots projected to sign $41 million offensive lineman this offseason

Upgrading the offensive line to protect Drake Maye is one of the organization’s top priorities.

Kansas City Chiefs star guard Trey Smith is expected to hit free agency in 2025, and the team’s cap situation is less than ideal.

Smith posted a Pro Bowl campaign in 2024 and has been one of the most consistent guards in the league since being selected in the sixth round of the 2021 draft.

Many teams around the league in need of offensive line help will undoubtedly be lining up to sign him. At just 25 years old, he still appears to have many productive years ahead of him.

The 33rd Team’s Marcus MosherΒ has listed the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, and Seattle Seahawks as potential suitors and projected Smith to sign a four-year, $84 million deal.

Seattle may be the least likely to sign him due to their cap woes. They are currently $13.4 million over the cap and face a tough challenge in freeing up space for another massive contract.

It remains to be seen whether Kansas City will free up enough cap space to afford Smith, but they could very well lose in a bidding war with New England, which is best positioned to offer him a large contract.
