The Kansas City Chiefs are recovering from their 40-22 beatdown in Super Bowl LIX at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. With their opponent celebrating their win on Friday with a parade in the city of Philadelphia, Kansas City made a post on social media that drew some backlash from fans.
The Chiefs were hoping to make history as the first team to ever win three Super Bowls in a row, but instead, they got humbled. Now there are some big questions surrounding the team, with the biggest being the future of star tight end Travis Kelce, who reportedly has until March 14 to figure out whether or not he’s going to retire.
“If Kelce chooses to retire, the Chiefs, as they head into an intriguing offseason, want to know of his decision around March 14, according to a team source. Based on the deadline, the Chiefs are going to give Kelce a month to decide his future,” Nate Taylor and Cale Clinton of The Athletic reported.
Losing Kelce would certainly be another big blow for Kansas City, but there’s time for him to figure out what his future looks like. For now, the Chiefs opted to celebrate Valentine’s Day, posting about the holiday on social media right as the Eagles Super Bowl parade got underway.
“Hope you’re feeling the love today, Chiefs Kingdom,” the Chiefs said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Given the timing of this post, fans were quick to reply and call the team out. @sesau22_ is clearly still not over the loss, saying, “Nothing to love about this team, we got blown out in the Super Bowl.”
@Pachecojukes echoed a similar sentiment, saying, “If y’all loved us y’all would’ve (put) up a better performance on Sunday.”
@GrantGoltra took things a step further, claiming he’d feel the love if Kansas City “fired the entire offensive coaching staff.”
Chiefs fans were feeling the pain as they sat back and watched the Eagles celebrate at the parade they have become so accustomed to throwing for their team. With this tough result in the books, Kansas City will turn their attention towards putting together a big bounce-back campaign in 2025.
