Cleveland Browns players practice Thursday at their training headquarters in Berea as they gear up for the start of the season

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns announced the finishing touches on their remade offensive coaching staff on Friday along with additions on defense and special teams.

The team added Sanders Davis and Ben Wilkerson as assistant offensive line coaches, Kyle Hoke as assistant special teams coach and Adam Morris as assistant defensive line coach.

Stephen Bravo-Brown, who previously served as assistant special teams coach, takes over as assistant wide receivers coach, replacing Callie Brownson, who left the Browns to join USA Football.

Nick Charlton, an offensive assistant/run-game specialist in 2024, moves to pass game specialist this season.

The team also confirmed the previously reported move of Bill Musgrave to quarterbacks coach and the addition of Christian Jones as tight ends coach..

Browns announce five additions to coaching staff

This is the second consecutive season the Browns have shaken up at least a part of their offensive staff. Head coach Kevin Stefanski moved quickly to hire Tommy Rees as his offensive coordinator after Ken Dorsey was fired the morning after a season-ending loss in Baltimore.

With a remake of the quarterback room on the horizon, Stefanski tabbed Musgrave, a longtime NFL and college coach and coordinator who has been with the organization as an offensive assistant since 2023, to lead the position.

Bravo-Brown, a wide receiver in college, was a defensive quality control coach before spending three seasons working with special teams. He will work with wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea to lead a young receiver room that will also likely see additions in free agency and the draft.

Charlton was the youngest head football coach in Division I at Maine from 2019 to 2021 before going to UConn, where he was the assistant head coach/offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. The Browns brought him in last season.

Jones moves into one of Stefanski’s favorite roles on the staff for young coaches. He worked with Stefanski previously in 2019 before spending the last three seasons with the Giants, the last two as assistant quarterbacks coach. He interviewed for the Browns quarterbacks coach job.

Davis rejoins new Browns offensive line coach Mike Bloomgren after working for him at Rice University as a graduate assistant and offensive line coach.

Wilkerson brings 10 years of NFL coaching experience following a four-year playing career. He served as the assistant offensive line coach with the Jets (2022-24), Giants (2018-21) and Bears (2015-17).

Hoke has spent the past 13 years coaching on the college level. He has had stops at Texas A&M (2024), San Diego State (2020-23), Indiana State (2019), Texas State (2018), John Carroll (2017), South Carolina (2015-16), Army (2014) and Western Michigan (2012-13).

Morris spent the 2024 season as the defensive line/run game coordinator at the University at Buffalo. He helped Buffalo set a school record with 92 tackles for loss, while DE Kobe Stewart led the conference in sacks. Morris also had college coaching stints at Ball State (2023), Eastern Illinois (2021-22) and DePauw (2020).
