The Cleveland Browns entered the 2024 NFL season with high hopes, ready to build on last year’s 11-6 record and playoff berth. Deshaun Watson returned as the team’s starting quarterback after playing in just six games in 2023 and missing the end of last season due to a shoulder injury.
But things haven’t gone as planned. Watson started the first seven games, only to suffer a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 7 against the Bengals. Even before his injury, the Browns struggled.
Now, veteran quarterback Jameis Winston has stepped up, but with the team sitting at 2-7, the season looks lost.
As a result, questions have been raised about whether the Browns will trade key players to rebuild. Tight end David Njoku has already drawn interest from several teams.
However, according to Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz, Cleveland is “highly unlikely” to trade the Pro Bowler.
“Despite receiving interest on Pro Bowl TE David Njoku, the #Browns are “highly unlikely” to trade him,” Schultz said. “Cleveland views ‘Chief’ as part of its long-term future.”

Njoku is currently in his eighth season in the NFL after being selected 29th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. The former Miami Hurricane has played in six games in 2024, recording 30 receptions for 255 yards and two touchdowns.
The Browns have a bye in Week 10 and will prepare for a matchup on the road against the New Orleans Saints. Kickoff on Nov. 17 is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
