BREAKING : Aidan Hutchinson Chimes in on Lions Potentially Trading for Myles Garrett

Aidan Hutchinson Comments on Potential Detroit Lions Myles Garrett Trade - Athlon Sports

Earlier this week, Myles Garrett made the surprising announcement that he had requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns. It didn’t take long after his announcement for the Detroit Lions to be insterted into the conversation of his possible suitors.

Their inclusion in the conversation is no surprise as the Lions are definitely in the market for an edge rusher and Garrett is as good as it gets at the position.

However, it seems one of the team’s biggest stars isn’t quite sold on the Lions making a move for Garrett.

When he spoke to the Detroit Free Press’ Dave Birkett, Lions edge Aidan Hutchinson was asked about a potential Garrett trade. He didn’t seem to like the idea and said it wasn’t likely to happen.

“Everyone’s asking me about that. I don’t know,” he said. “I don’t think – you can’t have that many dudes on one D-line, I don’t know. Who knows, but I think it’s very unlikely.”

That should put a damper on any speculation involving Garrett going to the Lions for a little while.

There are obviously some major hurdles that will need to be cleared before anybody can trade for Garrett, including the Browns actually showing some interest in trading him, and Hutchinson’s reservations would be another hurdle for the Lions.

Too many dudes on one D-line didn’t seem to be a problem for the Chargers’ defense this season with Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa as they allowed the least points in the league.

Still, if Hutchinson isn’t on board, then that makes it hard to picture the Lions making any trade for an edge rusher and instead it seems we should be focusing on the free agent market to figure out who the Lions might add at edge.
