BREAKING NEWS: Joe Burrow Is Putting More Pressure On Bengals This Offseason

A pivotal offseason awaits the Cincinnati Bengals as they navigate multiple contract situations that could reshape their roster and future.

They face crucial decisions regarding several star players, with wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase seeking an extension and Tee Higgins’ future uncertain after playing under the franchise tag in 2024.

Adding to the complexity is Trey Hendrickson’s situation. The league leader in sacks made his position clear: He wants a new contract or a trade.

His current deal, which runs through next season, falls significantly below market value for a player of his caliber.

Joe Burrow on Crucial Bengals Offseason: 'We Have Several Guys That Deserve to be Pai

In the midst of these negotiations, quarterback Joe Burrow has emerged as a vocal advocate for his teammates.

“Like you said, we need Trey back. We need to give him what he’s worth and what he deserves. He’s earned that. And we need our young guys to come on. We need to draft well. We need guys to come in and produce immediately. We don’t have time to wait around,” Burrow said on “First Take,” via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

Despite the financial hurdles, Burrow maintains an optimistic outlook on retaining the team’s key players.

“The [salary] cap is going up each year. We just got new TV deals. And we all want to stay together, so we’re all going to do what it takes to do that,” Burrow said.

The sentiment among the core group appears unified. They want to maintain their chemistry and continue building together.

While fair compensation remains a priority for all players involved, there’s a growing sense that compromises could be reached.
