CLEVELAND, Ohio — With Sunday’s 27-10 loss at home to the Chargers, the Browns are now 2-7 on the season, which is their worst record through nine games since the 0-16 season in 2017.
They are now tied with six other teams for the worst record in the NFL heading into their bye week.
But if the season were to end on Sunday night, where would they be picking in the 2025 NFL Draft?
According to Tankathon.com, the Browns would have the fifth pick at the moment in the draft because of strength of schedule tiebreakers based on opponents’ winning percentage.
The Patriots have the top pick at the moment because they have the weakest strength of schedule. Following them are the Jaguars, Saints, Panthers and Browns in that order to round out the top five.
The Raiders and Giants have the sixth and seventh pick, respectively, as it stands. Both the Browns and Raiders have the same strength of schedule (.517), but the Raiders have the later pick because they beat the Browns in Week 4.
This will be the first year the Browns have their first-round pick since the 2021 NFL Draft because they traded away their last three as part of the Deshaun Watson trade.
Here is the current draft order for the top 10 as it stands according to Tankathon:
1. New England Patriots (2-7)
2. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7)
3. New Orleans Saints (2-7)
4. Carolina Panthers (2-7)
5. Cleveland Browns (2-7)
6. Las Vegas Raiders (2-7)
7. New York Giants (2-7)
8. Miami Dolphins (2-6)
9. Tennessee Titans (2-6)
10. New York Jets (3-6)
