BREAKING : Patriots Leader Makes Surprising Claim Regarding Team’s Weapons

Why Eagles Wideout, Potential Target Impressed Star Patriots Defender

The Patriots have been a disaster in the wide receiver room in recent seasons, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have talent.

New England cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez and Jonathan Jones made an appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Zolak & Bertrand” on Wednesday, with the duo being asked about the young receivers they faced in practice last season.

Jones leaped on answering and was complimentary of the likes of Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker.

“I think the talent is there,” Jones said. “It’s just the mental aspect of it, you know, coming into a place like New England — it’s a tough place to come into. I was a guy who didn’t have expectations, so it was a little bit easier for me, but I’ve seen guys come in who were really high draft picks and couldn’t deal with the expectations that came from it.

“They just have to be able to match the physical with the mental. They have the attributes to go out there and be good players. I think they’ll take this offseason to improve on that, block out all the noise, and show up and be a good football player.”

Polk and Baker have a long way to go before they become playable, let alone legitimate contributors, but those who have been around them seemingly have hope for the future.
