New England Patriots Youngster Continues to Improve Trade Value - Athlon Sports

The New England Patriots face a pivotal offseason filled with crucial decisions, one of which revolves around the future of their promising backup quarterback, Joe Milton III.

Milton has emerged as a potential trade asset after his stellar performance in the regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills.

The young quarterback showcased his talent by leading New England to victory, completing 22 of 29 pass attempts for 241 yards, throwing a touchdown, and avoiding turnovers.

Additionally, he demonstrated his mobility, rushing for 16 yards and adding another touchdown on the ground.

With the NFL landscape constantly evolving, quarterback-needy teams could view Milton as a viable option.

Several franchises, including the Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders, might consider making a move for the 24-year-old signal-caller. Given his upside and physical attributes, he could attract significant interest in a league where quality quarterbacks are always in demand.

NFL analyst Brian Baldinger recently praised Milton’s potential, adding that he could have value around the league.

“After watching some of these guys at the Senior Bowl, I might take Joe Milton as my very best option if I’m looking for a quarterback right now. You might just be doing some backflips if you pull the string and negotiate with the Patriots for his services.” Such endorsements further bolster the argument that Milton’s trade value could be at its peak,” Baldinger said.

The Patriots’ decision hinges on their long-term vision. If they believe Milton could develop into a future starter, keeping him as a backup might be the best course of action.

However, if they see an opportunity to maximize his value now, trading him for draft capital or other assets could be a strategic move.

Ultimately, the Patriots must weigh their options carefully. Milton’s potential is undeniable, but whether he remains in New England or finds a new home will depend on how the team prioritizes its future at the quarterback position.
