The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward prospect Landon Slaggert from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, the team announced before Sunday’s game.
Slaggert, 22, has been one of the top players this season in Rockford, where he has 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points in 39 games. His 25 points are tied for second on the team, his 15 assists are tied for third, and his 10 goals rank fourth.
Slaggert did not play on Sunday when the Blackhawks hosted the Minnesota Wild at the United Center, but he is expected to do so on the upcoming three-game road trip. The Blackhawks had only 12 forwards on the active roster following the Taylor Hall trade, and now they are back up to 13.
Slaggert appeared in 16 games for the Blackhawks last season, recording four points (one goal, three assists). He was selected by Chicago in the third round (No. 79 overall) in the 2020 NHL Draft.
