Four days ago, the New England Patriots announced their new offensive coordinator. In fact, it was the same as the old one.
Josh McDaniels was welcomed back to New England, starting his third stint as New England’s offensive coordinator. Patriots fans did so with welcome arms; 90 percent of fans said McDaniels was the right offensive coordinator for the team in 2025.
McDaniels was previously with the Patriots from 2001 to 2008 and then from 2012 to 2021.
While the Patriots get set for 2025, the 2024 season is coming to a close. The conference championships will be held today, with the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Washington Commanders in the NFC and the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Buffalo Bills in the AFC.
Patriots fans are rooting for the road underdogs in both games. Sixty-three percent of fans would like to see a Super Bowl between the Bills and Commanders.
New England fans are behind the Bills over the Chiefs by a margin of 90-10. The Commanders also have a majority of support, but by a 69-31 spread.
Across the NFL, the Buffalo Bills are the favorite. Forty-four percent of fans are rooting for them to win it all. The Commanders get support from about one quarter of the fans surveyed, while the Chiefs get about one-fifth. Only 11 percent of fans are rooting for the Eagles.
While the Chiefs will make their seventh consecutive AFC Championship Game appearance today, one short of the eight consecutive done by New England from 2011 to 2018, only 25 percent of Chiefs fans said this season has changed their perception of the Patriots’ dynasty.
