Ryan Rehkow named to PFWA All-Rookie Team after breaking multiple Bengals records

NFL: 2024 Season Player Headshots

The Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) have announced their All-Rookie Team, including Ryan Rehkow getting the nod at punter.

After winning the punting battle in training camp, Rehkow proved to be the much-needed answer for a Cincinnati Bengals team that’s struggled at the position since Kevin Huber retired.

In 17 games, Rehkow had 53 punts for an average of 49.1 yards per punt, including 43.3 net yards per punt. Both averages were a Bengals single-season record. He also had 25 punts downed inside the 20 (47.2%).

In Game 1 vs. the New England Patriots, Rehkow set the NFL record for the highest gross average of at least four punts in a game with 64.5 yards per punt. On just his second attempt, he drilled a franchise-record 80-yard punt.

Rehkow was a 2024 undrafted free agent signee out of BYU who didn’t even join the Bengals until July 26th. The hope is he’ll be the team’s primary punter for many years to come in the Queen City.
