Points-wise, the Chicago Blackhawks enter another week of play at the bottom of the NHL standings.
However, when the Blackhawks do win, it usually comes against playoff-caliber teams.

The Hawks kicked off a tough four-game homestand with a two-goal victory over the Pacific Division-leading Vegas Golden Knights.
That win came out of nowhere considering the Hawks were in the middle of a four-game losing skid that included defeats to the Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings–two teams currently jockeying along with the Hawks for the best NHL draft lottery odds.
However, maybe it was the Hawks catching Vegas at the right time considering the Golden Knights have dropped five of their past six games.
Still, it is interesting to see the Hawks have 10 of their 15 victories coming against teams that will likely be vying for the Stanley Cup in the playoffs.
Pretty much the Hawks have become the get-right team for the bad teams in the NHL and a thorn in the side of the league’s contenders.
It also sort of speaks to the effort being inconsistent all season long. The problem was evident when Luke Richardson was head coach and it has still popped up under Anders Sorenson. This team has struggled all season keeping its focus for sixty minutes.
They sometimes play like they think they can win on talent alone when they do not have enough talent to win on talent alone (credit the movie Miracle for that great line).
You would like to see the Hawks get up for every NHL team they face instead of putting on their best effort for only the elite teams.
Hey, winning is winning so you take them any way you can get them. It is just so odd that the Hawks can crush the Dallas Stars 6-2 or beat the defending Stanley Cup champions Florida Panthers 3-1 but then get boat-raced by the Buffalo Sabres.
