BREAKING: Packers predicted to target $100 million superstar this offseason

The Green Bay Packers could be in the market for an elite receiver after being eliminated by the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs. The team has plenty of depth but needs a true No. 1.

Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks are all talented receivers, but none of them took the step up to become an elite receiver like the team had hoped. SB Nations’s Justis Mosqueda predicted the Packers would target Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins this offseason.

Packers rookie pass-catchers are shining, but need more from second-year WRs

“Just about every Packers fan has kept tabs on Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins ever since Green Bay made the decision to take quarterback Jordan Love over Higgins in the 2020 NFL draft,” wrote Mosqueda. “In his five seasons in the league, Higgins has posted 330 receptions for 4,595 yards and 34 touchdowns, despite splitting passes with receivers like Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd. If the 25-year-old hits the open market, expect him to have a lot of suitors. The only question is whether or not the Bengals will tag him or let him walk, similar to Xavier McKinney’s situation with the New York Giants last year.”

Higgins played on a $21 million franchise tag this season. The Bengals could tag him again and try to trade him or simply let him walk. Regardless, the Packers have the cap space now to sign him and their window is open. Pairing Higgins with Jordan Love could be a great movie for the Packers.

Spotrac projects Higgins to sign a four-year, $100 million deal in free agency. With Christain Watson set to miss extended time with an ACL tear, adding a receiver could be a bigger need than expected this spring.
