It’s only a game, but a lucrative one at that. On Saturday night, the Detroit Lions square off against the Washington Commanders at Ford Field. The team owners won’t be the only business cashing in on the frenzy.

Crain’s Detroit Business reports:

Anderson Economic Group LLC out of East Lansing estimates the Lions-Commanders NFC Divisional Playoff game this weekend will bring in more than $64 million to the local economy.

The Lions sold out of a limited number of tickets early on Jan. 6, even before knowing the opponent and date of the game. Stubhub as of Thursday morning had close to 600 listings for the game, with tickets priced from $375 to as high as $5,727. The Lions released more tickets Thursday afternoon, starting at $350 as verified tickets on Ticketmaster.

Crain’s reports that many of the downtown Detroit hotels are either near or completely booked this weekend.
