BREAKING: Travis Kelce says Taylor Swift is ‘fully encouraging’ him to continue playing in the NFL

The tight end and the Kansas City Chieefs begin their quest for another Super Bowl this weekend.

Travis Kelce opens up about how much Taylor Swift's support means to him

Travis Kelce has been in the NFL since 2013 – and has had quite a storied career to write home about.

With the Kansas City Chiefs, the tight end has won Super Bowls LIV, LVII, and LVIII with the team. Kelce is a ten-time Pro Bowler who holds the NFL records for most consecutive and the most overall seasons with 1,000 receiving yards by a tight end (seven). Kelcee, 35, also holds the record for most receiving yards by a tight end in a single season with 1,416 in 2020 –  despite playing only 15 games.

During the 2022 season, Kelce became the fifth NFL tight end to reach 10,000 career receiving yards and reached the milestone faster than any tight end in NFL history.

As the Chiefs begin their quest for another Super Bowl – it would be their third straight Vince Lombardi trophy – there is no sign of Kelce slowing down.

And that is reinforced by his girlfriend, megastar Taylor Swift.

“She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” Kelce shared on the Stephen A. Smith Show on Jan. 15. “She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the games and cheering for me so I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”

Kelce and Swift have been dating since last summer. That love and support has made him a better player, he explained.

“That’s the beauty of being in a very strong relationship,” he said. “is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft. Focus on being the best version of you.”

It’s not just Swift – who attended 13 games last season including the Super Bowl – who supports Kelce. He gives it back to her in an equal way, which is why he went to so many of her stops during her legendary The Eras Tour around the world.

“I wanted to be at the concerts supporting her and being there for her making sure she feels comfortable and supported in everything she’s doing in life,” he explained, adding, “I think I’m as focused as I’ve ever been on my job and being the best player I can possibly be, week in and week out for this team. And it’s because I don’t have to worry about things off the field.”

Swift, a Grammy award-winner who has been in the spotlight for decades, has said the same thing, revealing in a 2023 interview with TIME: “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves. [W]e’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care.”

The Chiefs as the No.1 seed in the AFC got a bye in the first round of the playoffs. They host the Houston Texans on Saturday at 4:30 pm ET at Arrowhead Stadium – and if the past is any indication, The Tortured Poets Department crooner will be there.
