Kelce was fined $14,069 after he copied Gonzalez’s celebration by dunking the football over the bar when he became the Chiefs’ all-time record TD scorer on Christmas Day.

Gonzalez, who previously held the record on 76, offered to pay Kelce’s fine but instead, Kelce himself paid up and Gonzalez sent the money to Kelce’s 87 & Running foundation.

‘It was a fine well worth it,’ Kelce said to James. ‘Actually, Tony G helped me out with that one.

‘But instead of throwing any money to me I just said to send it to the foundation. So shout out to Tony G.’

The Lakers star was in agreement, applauding and saying: ‘Yeah send it to the foundation, give it up for Tony G. I can’t believe the NFL had the nerve to fine you for that s***.’

Kelce broke Gonzalez’s record with a touchdown in the 29-10 Christmas Day win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Gonzalez congratulated him over X, writing: ‘Congrats to my man Travis Kelce on becoming the all time Chiefs leader in touchdowns! Keep blazing trails my friend! Btw nice dunk.’

Kelce replied: ‘You know I had to show love to the greatest of all time!! You did mention you’d help me with the fine tho!’

The serious business is about to begin for Kelce and the Chiefs, as they host the Houston Texans at Arrowhead this weekend in their first playoff appearance of the season.

They skipped wildcard weekend after locking in the AFC’s No. 1 seed, while the Texans beat the Los Angeles Chargers to advance into the next round.

The 35-year-old Kelce and his team are lining up a shot at what would be an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat in New Orleans in February.

If the Chiefs beat the Texans, they face the winner of the blockbuster showdown of the weekend between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills.
