BREAKING: Taylor Swift makes decision on attending Travis Kelce’s play-off games after ‘opposition’ from some NFL players

Taylor Swift makes decision on attending Travis Kelce's play-off games after 'opposition' from some NFL players

In a recent media appearance, Travis Kelce revealed that Taylor Swift will be in attendance at his next NFL game.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been dating the pop icon since 2023 and Swift has been spotted in an executive box at the team’s Arrowhead home stadium on multiple occasions since then.

She was also present when Kelce and co. secured a second successive Super Bowl crown last year, even taking to the field at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, to celebrate with her beau after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22.

However, a recent poll showed that some NFL players are not in favour of Swift’s appearances at games due to the amount of attention her presence garners.

Out of 102 NFL players anonymously polled in a survey conducted by The Athletic, 72.5 per cent deemed Swift’s presence at games and the ‘coverage that stemmed from it’ is positive for the league.

Five players viewed the singer’s involvement as a negative for the NFL, while 23 were ‘somewhere in the middle’ on the matter. And some were outspoken about the unfairness of the airtime Swift receives.

“I feel like she is getting unnecessary coverage,” one unnamed player said.

“There was the whole NFL opening season video on Twitter and she was featured five times and our quarterback was featured none. That’s not even right. She is not the NFL.”

Another added: “It’s bringing more attention to the game. But I feel like they’ve been using her face. If she’s at a game, they probably show her like six, seven times. People get… sick of it if they keep doing it over and over again. So I think they’ve got to find a balance.”

But when Kelce appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday, the Chiefs star hinted that Swift was undeterred by the naysayers.

“Is there going to be an ‘aura’ in that place? A little extra, you know what we’re talking about?” McAfee asked, a thinly veiled question of whether Swift would be in the arena when Kansas City take on the Houston Texans in the divisional round of the NFL play-offs.

“Oh yeah, you know it baby,” Kelce replied. “It’s playoff football, man.”
