šŸˆ Andy Reid Drops Bombshell on Mahomesā€™ Role & Veteran Strategy + Harrison Butker Injury Update! šŸšØ

Do you remember the Broncos-Chiefs game? How crazy was it that the Chiefs failed to score a single point? The game ended the regular season with a 0-38 loss and now Patrick Mahomes, and crew just waiting for a deserving wild-card game-winner to fight with for the conference round! Great stuff! But thatā€™s not what Andy Reid is aiming for if you really know him! And as they want a three-peat and give time off for players after the Denver game, the head coach is nothing but serious about the next month.

It was implied by Reidā€™s press conference Friday when he sent a strong message to veterans on the team. On Jan 10, responding to a question about veterans on the team, Reid said, ā€œThe experience helps, especially for younger guys, to be able to talk to them and tell them about the urgency of this.ā€ Thatā€™s correct, experience does matter, particularly in crucial games.

The head coach further continued, ā€œThis is a single elimination, and thatā€™s easier said than putting it in your brain and getting yourself right for every snap. [They] have to practice hard and aggressive with so and just gotta make sure you really focused and donā€™t let distractions in there.ā€ Apart from this, the 66-year-old genius also talked about giving players the right tempo to practice on that level and under that pressure.

During a talk, Reid also gave an update about the Chiefsā€™ major injured players and their status. He said, ā€œChris Jones, Jawaan Taylor, Isiah Pacheco, and Chamarri Conner all practiced in some capacity today. The time off is proving to be vital for injured players.ā€ Well, great news! But a better-than-best situation would come if Pacheco comes into the playoffs picture!

But there is a catch! Patrick Mahomes and crew are marching ahead with a great spirit, no doubt about it. But there is one promising guy missing on the roster- Harrison Butker. Andy Reid gave an update about the kickerā€™s injury as well.

Harrison Butkerā€™s injury update by Andy Reid

The Chiefsā€˜ special teamā€™s star Harrison Butker injured his left knee during a practice in mid-November and missed games too because of that. According to reports, his induction to injury reserve happened due to a torn meniscus on his left knee. He had a clean-up surgery after that and returned to the gridiron in week 15 after missing 4 games. But since then, he hasnā€™t been in his best form.

Butker missed a vital goal attempt which was a 51-yard punt against the Broncos in week 18. Yeah, it was the one that they got a shutout. He was clearly not in the earlier strength of making 100% field goals. Additionally, with just 84% field goal percentage, Harrison ranks 26th. In extra points, he ranks 32nd, whereas he couldnā€™t go beyond 31st rank in long-distance field goals. Thatā€™s terrible!

This should be a worry. When asked about his poor run, Andy Reid only said, ā€œHeā€™s a hard worker and a perfectionist in everything. I think heā€™s getting better every day as he goes through this.ā€ Well, he needs to find his form before the big games.

But you know why Reid called the kicker a hardworking? The 29-year-old kicker found a unique way of kicking the ball, which does not hurt the foot more often. He bends his left ankle after kicking the ball with his right foot and just touches the left knee to the ground after the hit. We can only hope his strategies work for real.

However, when fit, Butker is the Chiefsā€™ go-to man. But he needs to pick his pace soon. As Andy Reid has said, the veterans along with the star quarterback must pull up their pants now.
