Just a couple of days back, one infographic went viral on X posted by the official NFL handle. It depicted the top two candidates in the NFL for the MVP award. And you know who those names were? Lamar Jackson<\/strong> and Josh Allen<\/strong>. The MVP race may have already outpaced Patrick Mahomes,<\/strong> but couldn\u2019t overlook one player\u2014the Cincinnati Bengals<\/strong> star quarterback, Joe Burrow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In a recent chat with a few NFL reporters on December 31, Joe Burrow showed his stance for the MVP Award 2024. When reporters asked the 28-year-old regarding the award, \u201cDid you get a chance when you get off the field?\u201d <\/em>Burrow\u2019s response was, \u201cI did.\u201d<\/em> And when asked, \u201cWhat were your thoughts?\u201d<\/em> Joe Burrow replied immediately, \u201cI will win one day.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n In further questions, Joe admitted he doesn\u2019t have a real issue with the MVP voting. He said, \u201cIt is what it is\u201d <\/em>except as a fact.\u00a0And what\u2019s the fact? He said, \u201cUsually you gotta win your division!\u201d<\/em> But that\u2019s a whole different story. Finally, he expressed his disagreement with the current process of MVP selection. But to set this selection format aside for some time, it\u2019s important to take note of what\u2019s his stance at the start.<\/p>\n Burrow said he would win someday. This statement is open to interpretation. But is he showing some kind of disinterest in the MVP award race? The world is only talking about Allen and Jackson. We can\u2019t guess. We can definitely say that Joe may be thinking about the award to win in the future. But for former NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman,<\/strong> Joe Burrow is the real MVP.<\/p>\n In a convo with the reporters on New Year\u2019s Eve, Troy Aikman snubbed other candidates to show his pick, saying, \u201cNo disrespect to anyone and the year they\u2019ve had, but if I had a vote, it would go to Joe Burrow.\u201d <\/em>Meanwhile, the state has awarded the Baltimore Ravens star its most prestigious award\u2014you wouldn\u2019t be shocked to know, right?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n In a room full of well-wishers, the local media has crowned Lamar Jackson as the Ravens\u2019 team MVP. Yep, you read that right! He won this award for the fourth time, but Ravens fans and netizens weren\u2019t surprised; they think he\u2019s the real MVP.<\/p>\n After the award, Lamar delivered a short speech. He remarked, \u201cIt means a lot to my home team. My teammates appreciate this a lot.\u201d<\/em> Lamar has scored a staggering 39 touchdowns this season (ranks 2nd in the league) which is his career-best passing TDs. With only 4 interceptions (two less than Josh Allen) Lamar ranks #1 in quarterback rating with 78.0 QBR. That\u2019s dope, right?<\/p>\n What\u2019s more interesting is that the hotly contested MVP race is not new to Lamar. He owned this award in 2023 and is moving inch by inch closer to winning his 2nd MVP award in a row (He already won twice \u2013 in 2019 and 2023). Whereas Joe Burrow and Josh Allen are seeking this award for the first time.<\/p>\n The league is in its final phase, and awards are not too far.
