Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard reflected on his slow second NHL season, scoring only 17 points in the first 23 games. But the 19-year-old forward recorded four multi-point games in December, scoring 15 points in 14 games.<\/p>\n

Bradrd is not worried about his slow pace in his sophomore season, though. He amusingly compared his slump to when a golfer struggles with their game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like to think of it as when a golfer plays like (crap),\u201d Bedard said, laughing. (via NHL.com) \u201cThey\u2019re not hitting the ball. They\u2019ve done it their whole life. You go out there, your hands don\u2019t feel right, you\u2019re tired or whatever. It\u2019s a weird thing.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Despite the slow start, Connor Bedard has improved, especially defensively. New interim coach Anders Sorensen has helped him focus on the right areas and trust his instincts.<\/p>\n

Bedard\u2019s play has picked up recently, with 17 points in his last 16 games. Heading into the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field on Tuesday, he’s feeling more confident, hoping his improvements will reflect in the game.<\/p>\n

The outdoor game at Wrigley will be a big moment for Bedard. He remembers his first outdoor game clearly, the 2014 Stadium Series at Soldier Field when his hero, Sidney Crosby, played for the Penguins.<\/p>\n

Bedard\u2019s family, including his dad Tom, mom Melanie and sister Madison, will be there to support him. Although he hasn\u2019t skated outdoors much before, he\u2019s excited about the unique experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll be a little different for me, but I\u2019m excited for it.” Bedard said.”… It\u2019s a different stage, so that always excites you a little bit.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This season started with some challenges, but Connor Bedard is optimistic about his growth and looking forward to playing in the Winter Classic.<\/p>\n

Connor Bedard’s goal in vain as Blackhawks lose 5-1<\/h2>\n

The Chicago Blackhawks lost 5-1 to the Dallas Stars on Sunday. Connor Bedard gave the Blackhawks the lead with a power-play goal before Jamie Benn tied the game with a rebound goal.<\/p>\n

In the second period, Jason Robertson put the Stars a 2-1 lead with a wrist shot. Evgenii Dadonov made it 3-1 with a goal from the right circle.<\/p>\n

Wyatt Johnston scored early in the third period, deflecting the puck into the net for a 4-1 lead. Matt Duchene added a fifth goal with a rebound at 2:55 as the Blackhawks suffered their fourth straight defeat.<\/p>\n
