DeAndre Hopkins appears poised to play a bigger role in his second game as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.<\/p>\n
Head coach Andy Reid anticipates seeing \u201cmore\u201d from Hopkins on Monday night when Kansas City takes on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.<\/p>\n
The former Clemson star receiver was on the field for 23 snaps and ran 14 routes in his Chiefs debut against the Las Vegas Raiders this past Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was chomping at the bit on the sideline wanting to play,\u201d Reid said Monday, \u201cand at the same time, knowing that he didn\u2019t have all of it down so there was a patience there, but he was into the game and I think you\u2019ll be able to see more this next game.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hopkins was traded last week to the Chiefs from the Tennessee Titans for a conditional fifth-round pick.<\/p>\n
The five-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler was targeted three times in Kansas City\u2019s 27-20 win over the Raiders in Las Vegas, catching two passes for 29 yards. He played 32 percent of the Chiefs\u2019 snaps on offense.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought he looked good out there and did a nice job,\u201d Reid said. \u201cHe did a nice job in the run game, did a nice job in the pass game, had the big third down catch right off the bench and did well with that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hopkins and the two-time defending Super Bowl Champion Chiefs will try to stay unbeaten when they play the Buccaneers in Week 9 on Monday Night Football (8:15 p.m., ESPN\/ABC). Kansas City (7-0) currently stands as the lone undefeated team in the NFL.<\/p>\n
In six games for the Titans this season, Hopkins had 15 catches for 173 yards with one touchdown. The 32-year-old has amassed 945 receptions for 12,557 yards and 79 touchdowns during his 12-year NFL career with the Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, Titans and now the Chiefs.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a good football player,\u201d Reid said. \u201cBeing able to fit in more will even be better, I think, as we go forward here.\u201d<\/p>\n
