KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – With less than a day before the 14-1 Kansas City Chiefs take on the 10-5 Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, the status of two key players is up in the air.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the Chiefs listed both defensive tackle Chris Jones and offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor as questionable.<\/p>\n

Jones did not practice on Monday after he left Saturday\u2019s game with a strained calf.<\/p>\n

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported Jones suffered a grade 1 strain and that it could be a long shot for him to play Wednesday. Head coach Andy Reid has not commented on Jones\u2019 readiness to play.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s absence on Wednesday would require a new starting offensive line combination, with Wanya Morris likely to take the right tackle position. His status is related to a lingering knee injury.<\/p>\n

The injury report also stated that Chamararri Conner and D.J. Humphries are out.<\/p>\n

Conner suffered a concussion in Week 15 and Humphries has been out since then with a hamstring injury. This is Humphries\u2019 fourth missed game since he was signed on mid-season and played one game.<\/p>\n

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained during Week 15 but says it\u2019s improving.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019ll be in a better place ankle-wise. Obviously, the body\u2019s gonna be sore with the short week and everything like that, but I think the ankle should be in a better place,\u201d Mahomes said in a press conference.<\/p>\n

The game airs locally on KCTV5 and live streams on Netflix. Kickoff is at noon.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
