\u201cThe mood in the building is fine,\u201d Goff said today on 97.1 The Ticket. \u201cYeah, of course there\u2019s been some injuries. The mood everywhere else is like the sky is falling, but the mood internally is fine. I said it after the game, I said, \u2018I\u2019m sure everyone will say the sky is falling now.\u2019 But no, the mood internally is fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goff\u2019s comments come in response to the wave of concern among fans who are worried about the impact of injuries to key players like David Montgomery, Alim McNeill, Carlton Davis III, and Khalil Dorsey. Despite these setbacks, Goff made it clear that the Lions refuse to use injuries as an excuse.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe refuse to use these injuries as an excuse and we\u2019re gonna be just fine,\u201d Goff explained. \u201cWe\u2019ve got all the pieces we need. Dan [Campbell] said it earlier, we\u2019ve got a ton of guys on defense who are gonna step up, have great opportunities. Offense, we\u2019re gonna keep chugging along.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about the team\u2019s aspirations despite the recent adversity, Goff didn\u2019t hesitate. \u201cI\u2019m telling you right now we can,\u201d he said, exuding confidence. \u201cDon\u2019t be depressed, we\u2019re fine. We\u2019re 12-2, we\u2019ve got three games ahead of us. We\u2019re in good shape.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goff\u2019s message to Lions fans was clear: While external negativity may be brewing, the team\u2019s mindset remains positive, and they are confident in their ability to continue succeeding. With three games left in the regular season, the Lions are in a strong position, and Goff believes they\u2019re fully capable of handling whatever challenges come their way.<\/p>\n

The Detroit Lions are taking action to combat their armageddon of injuries.<\/p>\n

Detroit\u00a0announced on Tuesday\u00a0that they have signed linebacker Anthony Pittman to their active roster. Pittman is joining the Lions off the practice squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars.<\/p>\n

This is a reunion for the Lions as Pittman, 28, spent the first five seasons of his career with them from 2019-23. He appeared in all 54 games for Detroit over the last three seasons (regular season and playoffs), though mainly on special teams. Pittman then signed with the Washington Commanders in March before being waived in August and had spent most of the 2024 season on Jacksonville\u2019s practice squad.<\/p>\n

The 12-2 Lions badly need the help defensively right now with Alex Anzalone, Malcolm Rodriguez, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin among their linebackers currently on injured reserve. That is just the tip of the iceberg too as Detroit\u00a0suffered several more key defensive injuries\u00a0just last weekend alone.
