The Green Bay Packers\u2019 defense, particularly against the pass, did not look so terrific in Week 14 versus the Detroit Lions. Jared Goff passed for 283 yards and three touchdowns.<\/p>\n
He got sacked once but Lions wide receiver Tim Patrick embarrassed Green Bay\u2019s secondary with two touchdowns \u2014 his first scores since 2021. That quality of defense did not do the images of defensive backs Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes any favor, but that seems to be not enough for Packers head coach Matt LaFleur to make some adjustments on the usage of the two cornerbacks.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019ll stay that way,\u201d said LaFleur on Wednesday about the team\u2019s approach on Valentine and Stokes, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.<\/span><\/p>\n It is also worth noting that LaFleur shared that stance despite Jaire Alexander seemingly on track to return to action in Week 15\u2019s game against the Seattle Seahawks after missing three consecutive Green Bay games. Alexander was a full participant in each of the last two days of practice.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, fans online have been quick to express what they truly feel about LaFleur\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Packers have always been one of those \u201cwe don\u2019t want to hurt a player\u2019s feelings\u201d teams. They almost seem afraid to tell Stokes, \u2018yea, you\u2019re probably not going to play absent a few injuries, sorry,\u2019\u201d shared a fan.<\/p>\n \u201cDoes MLF not have the same access to stats that we do on Stokes or what\u2019s the deal there,\u201d another one wrote .<\/span><\/p>\n Another comment read: \u201cWhy does he always do this??? He\u2019s done it with the OL in the past. Why is he seemingly the last to realize who his best players are?\u201d<\/p>\n From an X user : \u201cUgh. Clearly Lafleur doesn\u2019t watch the tape or watch Stokes play.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cStubbornness isn\u2019t and hasn\u2019t been a good trait for MLF \u2013 fantastic coach.
