The Dallas Cowboys suffered a heartbreaking 27-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on ‘Monday Night Football’ after a late-game error that gave the Bengals the ball back and ultimately led to the final touchdown of the game.<\/p>\n
With the Bengals lined up to punt, the Cowboys managed to block the punt, but as the ball traveled 10-15 yards downfield, a Dallas player attempted to recover the ball. However, the player mishandled the football, allowing the Bengals to regain possession. This gave Cincinnati a fresh set of downs, and they capitalized, driving down the field to seal the victory.<\/p>\n
Following the play and the Bengals go-ahead score, Cowboys star defender Micah Parsons was seen reacting in a lot of frustration on the sideline and he ended leaving the field early following the conclusion of the game.<\/p>\n
After the game, Micah Parsons faced some backlash for his emotional reaction during the matchup, especially as the Cowboys’ 5-8 record has effectively pushed them out of playoff contention.<\/p>\n
However, on Tuesday, Parsons addressed his outburst, explaining his emotional response to the frustration of the loss and the team’s current position.<\/p>\n
“I just don’t think there’s anyone more competitive than me,” Parsons said. “It’s heartbreaking for me because I promised y’all Cowboys action that we would make a run. I wanted to win real bad for the ownership, the fans. I’m carrying this chip on my shoulder because I want greatness for everyone. I want to win so bad. Sometimes, when you come up short, it’s a factor you can’t really control. It kind of just sunk the life out of me. It’s like, damned if I do, damned if I don’t. If I went over there and was laughing with the competition after we lost like that, a lot of people would be mad.”<\/p>\n
