Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have been through a lot of battles on the field during their respective NFL careers. They are both likely going to be Pro Football Hall of Famers, given the body of work they have put together in the league. But the Kansas City Chiefs stars are not done adding more to their resumes.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, the duo had another memorable night together, as they helped the Chiefs pull off a 19-17 escape of a win against the Los Angeles Chargers at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.<\/p>\n
In one of the most crucial moments in the contest, Mahomes connected with Kelce on a\u00a0third-and-7 at the Chargers 20\u00a0and with just two minutes remaining in regulation. After that catch by Kelce, the Chiefs smartly managed the clock leading to the game-winning field goal by Matthew Wright.<\/p>\n
Mahomes spoke highly of Kelce following the Chiefs’ 12th victory in the 2024 NFL season.<\/p>\n
“He means the world to me, man,” Kelce told reporters after the game about his thoughts on Kelce (h\/t\u00a0Katie Maher of WIBW)<\/p>\n
“I mean, without getting like emotional. I mean, he’s a guy that has really kind of made me who I am in my career and true leader on the football field,” added Mahomes, who finished the game with 210 passing yards and a touchdown on 24-of-37 pass completions.<\/p>\n
“Everybody says security blanket, but someone that I can just go to any moment and he’s gonna make a big play happen,” Mahomes continued. “And as he’s gone throughout his career, he’s never dropped off as far as his work ethic and the way he leads and I think that’s super important.”<\/p>\n
