It wasn’t pretty, but as we have become accustomed to in 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs just continue to get the job done, with a 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, who were the masters of their own downfall.<\/p>\n
The Chiefs moved to 11-1 on the season and punched their ticket to the playoffs with over a month of football left, and while there weren’t many positives for Kansas City, one was the return of running back Isiah Pacheco.<\/p>\n
“Pop” totaled 44 yards from seven carries in his first game back in over two months to give the Chiefs some grunt in the run game.<\/p>\n
While head coach Andy Reid stated the lack of runs was due to how the Raiders defense stopped the run, he was happy with the work Pacheco was able to get done in his return.<\/p>\n
“I thought that was great, that was a positive,” Reid said. “It was good to get Pacheco some reps, I thought he did a nice job when he had an opportunity to run.”<\/p>\n
It was yet another game where the Chiefs got out of jail as the Raiders fumbled the game away after Jackson Powers-Johnson snapped the ball when Aiden O’Connell wasn’t looking, he fumbled, and the Chiefs recovered, ending the game with Las Vegas in field goal range at the Kansas City 32-yard line.<\/p>\n
Now the owners of a 14-game win streak in one-score games, the Chiefs feel inevitable when things get tight, but as we know, a bounce of the ball, one way or the other, could have the Chiefs’ season looking vastly different.<\/p>\n
Of their 11 wins this season, nine of them have been by one score, so they are coming through in critical times.<\/p>\n
As a result, they will have a good shot at having a home-field advantage for the playoffs, with a healthy Pacheco just another added bonus on what was another thrilling day of football for Kansas City.<\/p>\n
