According to Fanatics, quarterback Drew Allar, the team’s third-round pick,\u00a0ranks No. 4 in early rookie jersey sales\u00a0among recent draft picks.<\/p>\n

Allar falls behind only the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys’ Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence, and the\u00a0Miami Dolphins’ Jacob Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

    Hope for the future<\/h2>\n

    Allar is just the latest Steelers attempt to find their quarterback of the future, something the team has failed to do since the days of Ben Roethlisberger.<\/p>\n

    Pittsburgh\u00a0drafted Kenny Pickett in 2021, but that did not pan out for them.<\/p>\n

    The Steelers then opted for Will Howard in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but the jury is still out on the Ohio State product after not taking a snap last year.<\/p>\n

    Howard remains on the roster, but clearly the Steelers are trying to hedge their bet in finding the next franchise quarterback.<\/p>\n

    But Allar might have to wait at least a year to show his stuff, as the expectation has been that Aaron Rodgers will return for another season.<\/p>\n

    That said, Rodgers still has not made his decision official.<\/p>\n
