THE Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back a proven coach to help the team next season.<\/p>\n

Eric\u00a0Bieniemy is set to return to Kansas City as the team\u2019s offensive coordinator.<\/p>\n

Bieniemy was with the Chiefs from 2013 to 2022 and following his promotion from running backs coach to offensive coordinator in 2018, the Chiefs would win\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0LIV and\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0LVII.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no doubt that 2025 was a bad year for the Chiefs and one of the lowest\u00a0campaigns<\/span>\u00a0for offensive production in recent memory.<\/p>\n

Patrick Mahomes\u00a0spent time out injured\u00a0and\u00a0Travis Kelce\u00a0struggled as the team went 6-11 to miss the post-season.<\/p>\n

With Kelce considering retiring from the sport, he\u2019s likely to welcome the return of a coach he enjoyed so much success working under.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no coincidence that the five seasons where Bieniemy led the Chiefs offense were the five best statistical campaigns of Kelce\u2019s career.<\/p>\n

Kelce spoke on his podcast about Bieniemy\u2019s impending arrival, revealing on the \u2018New Heights\u2018 podcast that he \u2018can\u2019t wait\u2019 for his return.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t wait to see [Bieniemy] back in the building man. He\u2019s one of my favorite coaches of all time. One of my favorite people of all time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had so many unbelievable growing moments under him as a player, as a person. I just love the guy and it\u2019s going to be awesome to see him back in the building and see him back wearing the Chiefs logo.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Kelce\u2019s prime with Bieniemy, not only did he finish each season with at least 1,100 receiving yards, but he caught double-digit touchdown passes in three seperate seasons.<\/p>\n

The move has received praise from other Chiefs players, including Mahomes \u2013 who posted a picture of the two from their previous shared tenure in Kansas City to his\u00a0Instagram<\/span>\u00a0story.<\/p>\n

During his time with the Chiefs, Bieniemy\u2019s name in the game grew and he was linked to several head coaching positions.<\/p>\n

That has yet to happen for the 56-year-old.<\/p>\n

He departed the Chiefs to take the assistant head coach\/offensive coordinator position with the\u00a0Washington<\/span>\u00a0Commanders.<\/p>\n

That Commanders team finished a disappointing 4-13 \u2013 leading to the firing of head coach Ron Rivera and subsequent departure of some of his staff.<\/p>\n

He then left the\u00a0NFL\u00a0and jumped to UCLA to take the same role he had with the Commanders. But as the Bruins offense struggled, he was eventually fired.<\/p>\n

Bieniemy returned to the NFL in 2025 \u2013 spending the season as the running backs coach for the\u00a0Chicago<\/span>\u00a0Bears.<\/p>\n
