THE Kansas City Chiefs\u2019 worst fears were confirmed after one of their star offensive linemen was ruled out for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n
The situation was so grave that star quarterback\u00a0Patrick Mahomes\u00a0was seen praying for his lineman.<\/p>\n

Per ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter, left tackle Wanya Morris suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Chiefs\u2019 loss to the\u00a0Houston Texans.<\/p>\n
It is just the latest blow in a disastrous season for the\u00a0Chiefs\u00a0as they sit 6-7 and increasingly likely to miss out on the playoffs.<\/p>\n
The Chiefs are now down to their third-string left tackle after\u00a0rookie Josh Simmons was placed on injured reserve\u00a0last week.<\/p>\n
Morris was hurt in the very first play of the Texans loss as his knee gruesomely bent backwards in a scrum of players.<\/p>\n
One small positive the Chiefs can take from this is that Morris\u2019 replacement, Esa Pole, played admirably.<\/p>\n
Pole only allowed three pressures in 42 snaps and will almost certainly suit up to play the Chargers in Week 15.<\/p>\n
However, their offensive line injury concerns go way deeper than losing Wanya Morris.<\/p>\n
Right tackle Jawaan Taylor and Simmons were both\u00a0casualties of the Cowboys loss\u00a0on Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n
Taylor missed the loss to the Texans after sustaining a triceps injury and further knee problems.<\/p>\n
Starting right guard Trey Smith has missed the last two and a half games with a sprained ankle.<\/p>\n
Jaylon Moore has slotted into right tackle while Mike Caliendo has moved into right guard.<\/p>\n
The only two healthy starting offensive lineman the Chiefs have are left guard Kingsley Suamataia and center Creed Humphrey.<\/p>\n
The 6-7 Chiefs have an 11% chance to make the playoffs from here on out per the NFL\u2019s stats.<\/p>\n
It feels as if it is a mountain too steep to climb, even for a team led by Patrick Mahomes.<\/p>\n
