The Patriots travel to Miami this weekend for their second matchup against the Dolphins.<\/p>\n

This will be New England\u2019s second straight game against a motion-heavy, Shanahanian offense with two dynamic receivers. However, there are key differences between Sean McVay\u2019s Rams and Mike McDaniel\u2019s unit.<\/p>\n

Unlike LA, which prioritized downhill running, throwing outside the numbers, and using receivers as blockers in the run game, the Dolphins\u2019 offense is all about outside runs, inside passes, and using receivers to influence run defenders.<\/p>\n

McDaniel\u2019s offense is tough to contend with on its own, but it will be even more deadly with Tua Tagovailoa back in the fold. The veteran missed Week 5\u2019s meeting but is 6-0 against the Patriots as a starter. Tagovailoa\u2019s played efficient football during Miami\u2019s two-game winning streak, and he\u2019s been backed by strong defense from first-year coordinator Anthony Weaver.<\/p>\n

The game\u2019s setting will be yet another challenge, as South Florida has historically been a house of horrors for the Patriots.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say this year, when you go to Miami at this point in the year, it\u2019s a lot different than going to Miami at the beginning of the year,\u201d head coach Jerod Mayo explained during his Wednesday presser. \u201cSo, for us, it comes down to execution. That\u2019s what it comes down to\u2026 But what I will say is every game is unique. Every game is unique. It\u2019s a tough place to play. It\u2019s not that it\u2019s super loud or anything like that. We just haven\u2019t been able to get over the hump.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here are the keys for the Patriots to exorcise some demons and get a much-needed win in Hard Rock Stadium.<\/p>\n

MAKE MIAMI ONE-DIMENSIONAL<\/b><\/p>\n

New England\u2019s defense finished strong last week, but it was tough to watch through the previous quarters.<\/p>\n

The Rams scored four touchdowns in five drives in the middle of the game, with most of that damage coming on early downs. In fact, the Patriots had the least efficient single-game performance of any defense this season by EPA\/play.<\/p>\n

\"Scouting\u201cDefensively, [the Rams] only had, what, eight third downs in the game, and you just can\u2019t win that way,\u201d Mayo said during his postgame presser.<\/p>\n

Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp hit the Patriots\u2019 base defense with haymaker after haymaker, putting up over 100 yards and at least one touchdown each.<\/p>\n

The trick will be the #Patriots<\/a> proving they can hold up in coverage while in their base defense<\/p>\n
