Kevin<\/span>\u00a0Stefanski is keeping an open mind ahead of facing the\u00a049ers\u00a0in Week 13.<\/p>\nSanders threw one touchdown as the Browns claimed a 24-10 win against the\u00a0Las Vegas Raiders\u00a0yesterday.<\/p>\n
The game marked his first start in the\u00a0NFL.<\/p>\n
Sanders had to wait until the 144th pick of the 2025\u00a0NFL Draft\u00a0to get selected after being initially slated as a first-round prospect.<\/p>\n
He was then forced to be a backup for veteran\u00a0Joe Flacco, 40, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, 24.<\/p>\n
But his\u00a0first outing for the Browns finally came\u00a0against the\u00a0Baltimore Ravens\u00a0in Week 11 after an injury to Gabriel.<\/p>\n
Quarterback\u00a0Sanders then made his first start\u00a0against the Raiders a week later.<\/p>\n
However, Sanders\u2019 performance in just the Browns\u2019 third win of the season may not be enough to keep the starting position.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not going to get into that,\u201d head coach Stefanski said. \u201cObviously proud of [Sanders].<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m proud of this offense, and there are a ton of things to learn from. But I\u2019m going to worry about today.\u201d<\/p>\n
Coach\u00a0Stefanski is keen to let the rookie quarterbacks battle\u00a0for status as the Browns\u2019 starter.<\/p>\n
Sanders believes that he is now proving the doubters wrong.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody starts at different places,\u201d Sanders said. \u201cJust because I didn\u2019t get the\u00a0summer<\/span>\u00a0reps, that\u2019s how life is.<\/p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s no excuse. A lot of people want to see me\u00a0fail<\/span>, and it isn\u2019t going to happen.\u201d<\/p>\nQuarterback\u00a0Sanders shared a touching moment with his NFL legend dad Deion, 58, ahead of his first start.<\/p>\n
He went on to post a 87.3 passer rating in his first career start.<\/p>\n
The Browns remain last in the AFC North after 11 games.<\/p>\n
They will return to the\u00a0Huntington Bank\u00a0Field to host the 49ers on Sunday.<\/p>\n
