The\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0had to make some tough decisions while trimming down their roster to 53 players following the preseason.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the toughest among them was releasing offensive tackle Esa Pole. Kansas City signed Pole as an\u00a0undrafted free agent this past spring. He showed a lot of growth from the beginning of camp through the end of preseason, and he has all the tools you want to work with for an offensive tackle, standing 6-foot-7 and weighing 320 pounds.<\/p>\n

Pole\u00a0allowed zero sacks and zero quarterback pressures\u00a0on 46 snaps played during preseason. When the Chiefs cut him, they hoped he would go unclaimed on waivers so they could sign him to their practice squad. Unfortunately, the\u00a0New York Jets\u00a0ruined those plans by claiming the talented rookie. However, K.C. may have the opportunity to get him back.<\/p>\n
