KANSAS CITY CHIEFS rookie Josh Simmons will miss Sunday\u2019s showdown with the Las Vegas Raiders after being absent from practice all week due to a personal issue.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 22-year-old offensive tackle, in his first year out of\u00a0Ohio\u00a0State, has not trained once this week and was officially\u00a0ruled out on the team\u2019s injury report.<\/p>\n

Simmons has been listed as \u201cnot injury related, personal\u201d with head coach\u00a0Andy Reid<\/span>\u00a0confirming the absence is due to a \u201cfamily situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

No further details have been provided and the Chiefs have stayed tight lipped.<\/p>\n

According to Reid: \u201cGeneral manager Brett Veach is handling everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speculation about Simmons\u2019 situation has been swirling on\u00a0social media\u00a0ever since he was ruled out of last week\u2019s game against the\u00a0Detroit Lions\u00a0just hours before kick-off.<\/p>\n

That mystery only deepened as the young lineman failed to appear at practice in the days that followed, fuelling more rumours.<\/p>\n

Chiefs QB\u00a0Patrick Mahomes<\/span>\u00a0was asked about his teammate\u2019s absence this week but kept things private.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI\u2019ll keep conversations between us.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I\u2019m always praying for him\u2026 for all my teammates.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Simmons sidelined again, veteran Jaylon Moore is set to fill in at tackle, tasked with keeping Mahomes upright as Kansas City look to move above 500 for the first time this season.<\/p>\n

The game also marks the return of wide receiver\u00a0Rashee Rice, who is available after serving a six-game suspension.<\/p>\n

For now, Simmons\u2019 return date remains unclear with the Chiefs keeping details under wraps.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs are 3-3 headed into their Week 7 clash with the Raiders.<\/p>\n
