CINCINNATI Bengals quarterback has officially been benched before slamming the decision and saying it sucks.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Bengals\u00a0face the\u00a0Green Bay Packers\u00a0on Sunday as they hope to right their 2-3 record in the 2025\u00a0NFL\u00a0season.<\/p>\n

They started the season 2-0 with victories against the\u00a0Browns\u00a0and\u00a0Jaguars, but an injury to\u00a0Joe Burrow\u00a0has left them sliding.<\/p>\n
Burrow suffered a toe injury\u00a0against Jacksonville and is set to miss the majority of the season.<\/p>\n
As his replacement, they\u00a0turned to backup QB Jake Browning, but after three losses on the bounce,\u00a0Cincinnati have traded for Joe Flacco.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old told the press that he was not pleased about the decision but will not sulk.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cIf I wasn\u2019t pissed, then I shouldn\u2019t be in this locker room.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you don\u2019t play well, you\u2019re gonna get replaced. That\u2019s what I\u2019m going through.<\/p>\n
\u201cI need to limit some turnovers. But I think there\u2019s a lot of other things that kind of contributed to our lack of offensive production.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can point to the Denver game where I did take care of the ball, and we put up three points.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not dumb or arrogant enough to think I didn\u2019t play my role in the offensive struggles, but there\u2019s a lot that goes into it.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I think there\u2019s a lot of other things that kind of contributed to our lack of offensive production.\u201d<\/p>\n
Browning joined the Bengals in 2023 and has played 16 games for the side, featuring mainly as an injury replacement for Burrow.<\/p>\n
He continued, \u201cI\u2019m not gonna walk around sulking because one, no one cares how you\u2019re feeling about it. It is what it is.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd two, I\u2019ve got a little more pride than that to just be sulking around everywhere.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I\u2019m just staying prepared and doing what I\u2019ve got to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
Having graduated from the University of Washington in 2018, Browning went undrafted in 2019, signing with the\u00a0Minnesota Vikings\u00a0as a free agent.<\/p>\n
He stayed in Minneapolis for three years, failing to make it out of the practice squad, before moving to Cincinnati.<\/p>\n
He spent two years in the scout team but was given his first opportunity in 2023 and was named the No. 2 QB.<\/p>\n
A season-long injury to Burrow meant he featured in nine games in the 2023 season, impressing throughout.<\/p>\n
He finished the season with 1,936 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, as well as being the\u00a0NFL\u00a0completion percentage leader that year.<\/p>\n
When Burrow returned the following season, he returned to the backup role, where he looks like he will remain.<\/p>\n
