<\/p>\nThere have been some conflicting reports for the Detroit Lions over the past few days, with Dan Campbell suggesting that young cornerback Terrion Arnold is dealing with a long-term injury, per the\u00a0Detroit Free Press.\u00a0NFL Network\u00a0had even suggested that it could\u2019ve been season-ending.<\/p>\n
However, Arnold took to social media earlier in the week and said that \u201cGod is good,\u201d which might have been a sign that he\u2019ll return sometime during the 2025 season.<\/p>\n
Nonetheless, it doesn\u2019t sound like that\u2019ll be anytime soon, so the Lions will have to go out and make the necessary moves. Emmett Matasovsky of Sports Illustrated looked at a few options, including a current player on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.<\/p>\n
Fabian Moreau was among the players he believes could be a decent fit because he goes up against Justin Jefferson during practice.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoreau is a former third-rounder from 2017 and is well-traveled among the league. This is currently the UCLA product\u2019s second stint with the Vikings, and has been with six other NFL teams besides Minneapolis.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoreau has battled in practice with Justin Jefferson since August 27, and also spent the entire 2024 season with the Vikings. The defensive back knows the league, has produced before, and has prior knowledge of an upcoming opponent. He was promoted to the Vikings for a game-day elevation last week, too. Moreau is still being relied upon\u201d\u00a0Matasovsky wrote.<\/p>\n
Moreau has been in the NFL much longer than some of the other players listed, and he\u2019s 31 years old. He spent his college days at UCLA and has experience in the NFL, having appeared in games for the Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and the Vikings, playing in seven games last season for Minnesota.<\/p>\n
While he\u2019s getting older and might not offer more than someone they could look to take a flyer on, he has valuable experience.<\/p>\n
If the Lions really want to get creative, they could explore the trade market, but with the trade deadline not for a few weeks, it might be best to save those assets for when they\u2019re needed most.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
