CINCINNATI \u2014 Kalif Raymond got the worst of a big collision with Samaje Perine, but the\u00a0Detroit Lions’ Pro Bowl punt returner is believed to have avoided a serious injury.<\/p>\n
“That doesn\u2019t mean he\u2019ll play next week,” coach Dan Campbell said. “But it\u2019s good news, in other words. I mean, as a matter of fact he told me, ‘That didn\u2019t feel too good, but I\u2019m good.’ That\u2019s what he said.”<\/p>\n
Raymond was injured on a punt return with 3:31 left in the first quarter of the\u00a0Lions’\u00a037-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.\u00a0He left the game immediately with what the team announced as a neck injury<\/p>\n
Isaac TeSlaa took Raymond’s place as the Lions’ No. 3 receiver and caught his second touchdown pass of the year, and Dominic Lovett finished the game returning punts.<\/p>\n
Campbell said he’s not sure about Raymond’s availability for the next game against the Kansas City Chiefs (8:20 p.m. Oct. 12, NBC), or that of cornerback Terrion Arnold.<\/p>\n
Arnold left the game for the second straight week with a shoulder injury and Rock Ya-Sin and Amik Robertson finished the game at cornerback for the Lions’ shorthanded secondary.<\/p>\n
The Lions placed starting cornerback D.J. Reed\u00a0on injured reserve\u00a0last week because of a hamstring strain and played Sunday without Khalil Dorsey (wrist). Ya-Sin also left the game in the second half but returned.<\/p>\n
