Kansas City Chiefs offensive guard Trey Smith spoke with reporters before practice on Thursday, sharing his thoughts on young offensive lineman teammates Kingsley Suamataia and Josh Simmons.<\/p>\n
“It’s awesome to see Kingsley (Suamataia) go out there and doing his thing and having success.” said Smith, “He’s a great guy, and he’s a great teammate, great friend of brothers, so it’s always good seeing someone that you care about, going out there ball and doing well and finding success on the field. You know what type of player he is, how talented he is, and he has high ceiling potential, where he can be.”<\/p>\n
Suamataia had many critics and fans believe his best performance at guard this season was in the Week 4 victory over Baltimore. Smith also shared praise for rookie left tackle Josh Simmons’ impressive start to his career.<\/p>\n
“I really like Josh (Simmons) man, what he’s done, the talent level that he has, I think the sky’s the limit for him, and it’s really fun just being able to watch him and try to mount any faster his game, and just be a resource for him, because that’s how much I believe in Him.” said Smith, “With Kingsley as well, how talented he is, but it’s fun watching 71 (Simmons) get out there, man and doing this thing. There’s a reason he got drafted, where he got drafted, and I think the sky’s the limit for him.”<\/p>\n
Simmons notably earned praise for his chase-down efforts in the Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n
