Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes spoke to reporters after Sunday\u2019s game, expressing his appreciation for the offensive line\u2019s performance in Week 4.<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, they did a great job on run and pass. When they play like that, it makes my job a lot easier. They\u2019re starting to gel and build that chemistry that every offensive line has to do.\u201d said Mahomes, \u201cThose young guys are getting more and more experience and they\u2019ve played against some great defensive lines, and they\u2019ll continue to get better and better as the year goes on, but they had a great day today and let\u2019s build on it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mahomes was sacked once in Week 4 by Ravens linebacker Tavius Robinson; otherwise, he was relatively untouched in the pocket. The offensive line also performed better in run blocking, opening up opportunities throughout the game.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the weeks prior has been something that\u2019s been important to me \u2013 seeing that I can sit in these pockets and make these throws and get to my third progression(and) fourth progression and stuff like that,\u201d said Mahomes, \u201cEven the play to JuJu (Smith-Schuster) that gets tipped, that\u2019s third progression and you see the pocket, it\u2019s clean. Having that and having that confidence in them, it\u2019s pushing me to be better, and I thought we did that today, and let\u2019s continue to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The performances of Josh Simmons and Kingsley Suamataia will continue to be closely watched this season as they navigate their roles and gain experience. The matchup against Baltimore was a great example of the effectiveness and potential of the young duo for the future.<\/p>\n
