The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season in a 30-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Following the game, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes admitted the “undefeated thing” was cool, but the team has a different “ultimate goal” – winning the Super bowl.<\/p>\n
“It’s a good football team, so there’s nothing to hang your head [about],” Mahomes\u00a0said about the Bills. “We feel like we can play better, so we will get back to work and try to use this as a spark so that we can be a better football team in the end.<\/p>\n
“I’m hoping that [losing] is a benefit. I’m not going to say I or we relaxed, but at the same time I feel like we were just coming away with these wins at the end of the game. I think it’s going to spark us to have more urgency, especially at the start of football games, especially with the offense, and that comes from me and turning the ball over on the first drive. It’s something you can’t do in big games like this.”<\/p>\n
Mahomes knows the Chiefs will have to play better if they want to defeat “really good football teams” like the Bills.<\/p>\n
“[The Bills are] a really good football team,” he said. “It’s going to take your best football to beat great football teams, and we didn’t play our best football today and they went out there and beat us. That’s how it rolls in the NFL and so all due respect to them that’s going to be a good football team that we will probably see [in the playoffs].”<\/p>\n
Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt, knows her team will get back on track. However, if they needed any extra motivation, she provided it on her Instagram account Monday morning.<\/p>\n
“Keep your eyes on where you want to go. If you focus on the negative, you’ll find it. If you focus on the positive, you’ll find it,”\u00a0the message she shared\u00a0on her Instagram story read.<\/p>\n
Kansas City will be back in action next weekend with the road trip to Charlotte, North Carolina for a game against the Panthers, who have won two in a row.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
