In case you haven’t heard – yeah, like that’s actually possible – Micah Parsons will make his highly anticipated return to AT&T Stadium this Sunday night when the Green Bay Packers renew their longtime rivalry with the Dallas Cowboys.<\/p>\n
Parsons, of course, played four seasons with a star on the side of his helmet after Dallas made him the 12th overall pick in the 2021 draft, earning four trips to the Pro Bowl and three All-Pro selections. But after a lengthy contract dispute with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, the Penn State product was traded to the Packers on August 28, at which point Green Bay made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history with a four-year, $188 million contract that includes $136 million in guaranteed money.<\/p>\n
In an interview with The Associated Press’ Maaddi on Tuesday, Parsons downplayed his first matchup against his former team, calling it “just another game at AT&T.” That said, however, he did take some time to discuss what it might be like to sack Dak Prescott, which is still just wild to think about. And obviously heartbreaking for Cowboys fans.<\/p>\n

“It’s going to be painful,” <\/strong><\/em>Parsons said on the potential of taking Dak down. “That’s my guy. He was always like a good mentor for me. But you know how it is, he always told me if I ever faced him that it’ll be a great matchup, so I’m excited to see what Sunday brings itself.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Parsons has certainly made his presence felt in his first three games in a Green Bay uniform, recording 1.5 sacks, six QB hits, and 19 QB pressures, the last number ranking second in the NFL.<\/p>\n And while the Cowboys have only allowed five sacks thus far through the first three weeks of the season – only seven teams have allowed fewer – Prescott will be without the services of two of his starting offensive linemen on Sunday, as both center Cooper Beebe and rookie right guard Tyler Booker are sidelined with ankle injuries. So, there’s undoubtedly a good chance that Parsons, who’s sacked 25 different quarterbacks during his career, could make Dak victim number 26.<\/p>\n Again, though, while Parsons has a clear understanding of why people are so excited to see this matchup play out, he simply wants to go out and play football and help his team get a win.<\/p>\n “I accepted my fate weeks ago when the trade happened,\u201d Parsons said. \u201cSo for me, it\u2019s just all about playing another game and just doing what I do best, and that\u2019s just be a disruptive football player.
