Not only did Dak Prescott go through the game without being sacked, they opened enough holes for the running backs to rip off 119 yards on 22 carries (5.4 yards per attempt).<\/p>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_1a9vk9tb7\">Several players deserve credit for that effort, but Tyler Smith has been the leader of the group over the past couple of seasons. Now, he could be paid like the superstar he&#8217;s become.<\/p>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_38v3lyka7\">According to Clarence Hill, the Cowboys are working on a &#8220;record-setting contract&#8221; for the 2022 first-round pick.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Cowboys are still working on what will likely be a record setting contract for LG Tyler Smith, per source<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Clarence Hill Jr (@clarencehilljr) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/clarencehilljr\/status\/1963845349635715528?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 5, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_8mcf1vnq0\">Trey Smith of the Kansas City Chiefs is currently the highest-paid guard in the league after signing a four-year, $94 million contract extension in July.<\/p>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_ljtlnwsnt\">Tyler Smith is likely to surpass that average of $23.5 million with any deal he signs. The fourth-year Tulsa product has developed into one of the more consistent guards in the entire NFL.
